"We are super grateful to have come across such a wonderful person to care for our daughter."

Having a newborn with a rare genetic disorder upended our lives as new parents. Because it was a rare skin disorder called Epidermolysis Bullosa (or for short “EB”) we were reluctant to leave our baby girl, Ellie, with anyone until her first birthday. We met Lilly when she was still in nursing school and she quickly learned how to care for Ellie’s specific special needs. Having a trusted caregiver allowed me and my husband to spend some much needed time taking care of ourselves and our shared family responsibilities. Lilly cared for Ellie a couple of days a week at our home for two years, and additionally made sure her medical needs were being met to help Ellie transition into preschool. Lilly became family during those special early years of Ellie’s life, we are super grateful to have come across such a wonderful person to care for our daughter.

"Lilly goes above and beyond in supporting us as new parents."

Our daughter began her first month of life in the NICU, and we were overwhelmed with finding care that we could fully trust when we both went back to work. Lilly provided the perfect balance of sincere care AND skilled pediatric care. We fully trust Lilly’s professionalism, expertise and love for our baby girl. But perhaps just as importantly is her kindness, passion for her work and true joy she gets from caring from others. Lilly goes above and beyond in supporting us as new parents. She helps us feel connected to our daughter while we are not with her and ensures she is safe, loved and happy! When we have questions she gives us her personal advice as well as research-based information and practical methods for application. If we can’t be with our daughter, we want her to be with Lilly.

"She helped us interpret, simplify and apply doctor's instructions to real life."

Our second daughter was born prematurely at 32 weeks. I felt overwhelmed by information about my daughter’s care in the NICU. We were sent home with hospital equipment and I was paranoid about being out in the world having to care for such a delicate, tiny baby in addition to managing a balance at home with our three-year-old. I reached out to Lilly, who is a friend of mine, for support and advice due to her years of NICU experience. She helped us interpret, simplify and apply doctor’s instructions to real life. As a nurse and mom herself, Lilly is truly amazing at understanding and working with the entire family. I felt that she helped us care for our preemie, our there-year-old and also ourselves— specifically me as an overwhelmed mom of a little one with special care needs.

Since 2017 Harmony Children’s Village has been a good fit for our family because Lilly provides Catherine with the nursing care she needs

~ Mary Reed

My name is Mary Reed, and my daughter is Catherine who was born in December 2015 with severe medical complexities. She spent 13 weeks in the NICU, and came home needing 24/7 monitoring of her airway. Both my husband and I have jobs, so nursing care was a perpetual challenge. We discovered Harmony Children’s Village in 2017, which was life changing for our family of five. Not only did Lilly Pulko provide our daughter with the high-level nursing care she needed, but she went above and beyond in learning from therapists on how to engage with Catherine who is non verbal and non mobile. Lilly kept Catherine stimulated by reading books, playing music, and setting up toys in a way that she could play with them.`It was truly a wonderful feeling to drop Catherine with Lilly, and know that she was in the best of hands.
